PayPal Only?

A number of customers have e-mailed us, telling us they prefer not to use PayPal. Here is our official response:

Why PayPal?

PayPal is the most cost effective way for us to accept payment. We operate extremely tight margins and a shoestring budget and can't afford fancy personalized online shopping cart solutions. We don't have someone on payroll who can sit by the phone and take orders 24 hours a day or even just during regular business hours. We cannot offer multiple shopping cart providers -- it would create a Web site maintenance nightmare and probably confuse many shoppers. If we had a volunteer to spend the necessary hours each week to maintain our own shopping cart, perhaps we could do it. Are you interested in becoming a volunteer?

We have been using PayPal for buying and selling since it first emerged as a solution and we have absolutely no complaints about its service from either standpoint.

We also recognize that PayPal does not share all our political views. Darn it, it's just not a perfect world. We would prefer to use honest money (silver and gold) instead of Federal Reserve Notes, but the system is not designed to do that any more. (If you want to pay with silver or gold, let us know. We do accept NORFED silver coins.) NORFED.

PayPal Haters?

We got our first complaint about PayPal in early May. The customer stated that PayPal does not honor users' rights and makes its own rules. (The customer did not, however, say that they were ever unfairly charged by PayPal.) When we offered this person the option of faxing in a credit card order, we got no response. This led us to suspect that there are a number of "PayPal Haters" who are just trying to hurt PayPal's business by complaining about its service to merchants. They pretend they want to order from us but use PayPal as an excuse not to. When we call their bluff, they disappear. Please do not attempt to do this to us; it is a complete waste of your time and ours.

PayPal Alternative for Serious Shoppers

If you really want to place an order with us without using PayPal, you may send us a check. Make checks payable to Daniel New and send them to P.O. Box 100, Iredell, TX 76649. Before you send your check contact us via email for the total amount with shipping. This takes a lot longer but right now is our only other alternative.
